My approach to design is to focus on creating an environment that makes people feel good rather than focusing exclusively on how it looks.
What does that mean and what do I consider when designing a space? I enjoy designing indoor spaces to be in harmony with the nature. Including natural elements such as wood, stone, natural light and plants. Bringing in imperfections that give the space life. I also consider incorporating textures and sensory elements. Whenever possible making choices that promote sustainability. Using quality materials that are also a good value economically. Ergonomics and space planning are also important to account for human movement and how people's bodies interact with the space. Lastly, I consider ways to create contrast so there is a balance between a light & airy atmosphere and grounding of the space.
